Bhutan
officials said RBA has stopped offensive operations against Indian separatists
based on its territory for two days to regroup and reinforce its troops.
A Bhutanese military spokesman denied media reports that the offensive
has been discontinued.
A
member of the royal family was shot in the leg during fighting with the
rebels on Saturday, the spokesman said. Prince Jigel Ugyen Wangchuk, 19,
is in a stable condition, he said. His wound is not said to be serious.
The prince left his college in Great Britain in November to join the People's
Militia raised by the royal administration to fight the rebels. Prince
Jigyel Wangchuck, second son of Bhutan's monarch, has joined the army's
military operation to evict anti-India militants from the country. The
junior Wangchuck was away studying in Great Britain when he learnt about
the trouble back home as the militants had refused to shut down the bases
set up for conducting subversive activities against India.
