CNR (NRTI) Lobesa
Located
in Wangduephodrang Dzongkhag, over looking the valley of Lobesa,
the institute has good training facilities and has a peaceful environment
for learning. It is the only institute in the country offering two-year
diploma courses in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Farming and Forestry.
The number of students for the courses is decided every year as per the
requirement in the Ministry of Agriculture. It offers courses for class
X students over a period of 3 years. |
Since
the course is conducted as per the requirement, all the graduates are employed
by the Ministry of Agriculture. The graduates also have the option of self-employment
as commercial farmers specifically in vegetable farming, fruit farming,
dairy farming, and also as Horticulturists.
The
College of Natural Resources (CNR) in Lobesa (former Natural
Resources Training Institute (NRTI)) is the major in-country Renewable
Natural Resources (RNR) training centre for Bhutan. It was established
between 1989 and 1994 with the assistance of Helvetas/SDC. The CNR will take in a total of 60
students for various diploma courses every year.
