Dolakha
district is part of Janakpur zone in the central development region.
Its total land area is 2191 km2.
Dolakha
is based in the mid-hills and high Himalayas and has a strategic network
road from Mude to Jiri (Lamosangu - Jiri Road), constructed in the 1970's and passing through the
district headquarters at Charikot.
Despite
being within easy reach of Kathmandu, Dolakha is one of the least populated
districts in the country and has poor food security. However, the district
has good potential for tourism expansion and is an important link to the
districts of Ramechhap and Solukhumbu. |
