Sukmaya
along with her friend Sita Majhi, 40, of Manthali VDC-5 had sustained injuries
in a mine explosion as they entered the restricted zone of the army fenced
with barbed wires to cut grass on 4 June morning. The lower part of Sita's
left leg was mutilated in the blast. She was airlifted to Kathmandu in
an army chopper.
A
special team of NA from Kathmandu had rescued Sukmaya at 12 noon after
she remained trapped in the minefield since 8 am.
Though
Sukmaya was initially being treated at Tamakoshi Community Hospital in
Manthali, she was sent to Kathmandu in an ambulance on 4 June evening after
her health condition deteriorated. 'We referred her to Kathmandu suspecting
internal injuries following swelling in her head' Dr. Suman Acharya at
Tamakoshi Hospital said.
Meanwhile,
the police team of Chisapani police post which returned from the explosion
site in Sugurkhal VDC-7 in Kailali district has reported that Maoists had
stored bombs at the house of Manoj Shahi.
The
police team informed that Maoists had moved the explosive devices to Shahi's
house before the CA election. Earlier they used to store the explosive
devices in different VDCs of Sugurkhal, police added. |
