The corrected number of personnel registered in the first phase was 31,318.
18,923 of these personnel were verified in the second phase as members of the Maoist army.
An additional 932 persons who had not been registered in the first phase were presented for the verification process in the second phase. 679 of this total were verified as members of the Maoist army.
8,640 personnel did not appear for verification interviews in the second phase and were automatically disqualified.
4,008 persons remain to be discharged from cantonments after the total of absentees has been taken into account.
2,973 of this total were assessed to be under the age of 18 on 25 May 2006.
The full total verified as members of the Maoist army is thus 19,602,
comprising 15,756 men and 3,846 women.

The total number of Maoist army combatants registered at the seven main cantonment sites, including those from the associated satellite cantonment sites, is 30,852.

The total number of weapons registered so far is 3,428.

The types of weapons are:

91 mortars (of which 55 are locally-made);
61 machine guns;
2,403 rifles;
61 automatic weapons (sub-machine guns);
114 side-arms; 212 shotguns;
253 various/miscellaneous; and 233 home-made weapons. This includes 524 weapons retained for perimeter security by designated guards, in accordance with the Agreement on Monitoring of the Management of Arms and Armies,
and 49 of the weapons are so far retained away from the cantonments, pending an understanding with the Government on arrangements for personal security of leaders.

The Nepal Army has made available to UNMIN a breakdown by types of 3,430 weapons which it states were taken from the Nepal Army, the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force.

Maoist statement, March 2007

The CPN-Maoist has informed that 706 weapons and 5,966 combatants (5012 men and 954 wome) have been registered at the PLA's 3rd division cantonment at Shaktikhor of Chitwan district. Maoist Division Commander Bibidh said that of the registered weapons, 616 were in the containers, while 75 were being used for camp perimeter security and 15 more were being used for the security of the camp commanders.
