Majesty Queen Komal Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah was born at Lazimpat, Kathmandu
district on February, 1951.
Queen Komal is the second daughter of Lt. General
Kendra Shamsher J.B. Rana and Shree Rajya Laxmi Devi Rana.

Koma has been a member of the then Raj Sabha since 1970 and the present
Rajparishad.

Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev married Queen Komal Rajya Laxmi DeviShah
on May 1, 1970.

Koma received primary education at St. Helen's Convent, Kurseong, India
and St. Mary's Convent inJawalakhel, Lalitpur district.

Koma received certificate in music from Kalanidhi Sangeet Mahavidhyala,
Kathmandu.

Koma had represented Her Majesty the Queeen in the marriage ceremony of
HRH the Prince of Wales in London on 1981.

Koma was the Chairperson of Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ratna Rajya Laxmi
Devi Shah's 62nd Auspicious Birthday Celebration Committee and Nepal Children's
organisation Silver Jubilee Celebration Committee.

Koma was accompanied by Her Majesty the Queen in most of the official and
non-official visits to various parts of the country as well as various
other countries.

Koma has been honoured with Videsh Sewa Padak, Subharajyavisek medal, Suprasiddha
Prabala Gorkha Dakshina Bahu and Om Ram Patta medals.

Koma strongly believes in respect for elders and teachers. Her Majesty
takes keen interest in flower decoration and involves herself in household
affairs.
