» Maoist training: Sri Lanka's Liberation Tigers with assistance from French Maoists would providing military training to Nepal's Maoist rebels in in Indian border state of Bihar , an US based news source reported.
» Maoist call: Maoist leader Prachanda reiterated in a statement that his party CPN (M)  was ready to collaborate with all political parties and that the directives issued by his party to all its cadres not to target activists of the seven party alliance was being enforced strictly.
» Press freedom: An international advocacy mission for press freedom will travel together with  local partner organisations across the country to probe the situation.
» End of captivity: Maoists have released two journalists they had abducted last month in Ilam distirct, according to Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) officials.

» Peace process: In a statment CPN (Maoist) leader Prachanda appealed the international community, including the United Nations Organisation, to offer assistance in favour of a democratic process in the country. He said Maoists are prepared to discuss with anyone of the world.
» Maoist call: Leaders of the seven-party alliance have said that CPN (Maoist) leader  Prachanda's statement urging the parties to form a team for dialogue with his party is a positive gesture. The alliance leaders urged the Maoist rebels to create conducive environment before talks could actually take place and express commitment to peaceful settlement of the problem.
» Robbing: Maoist rebels have robbed money and personnel equipment from two visitors of a slate mine in Dolakha district. The Maoists had charged them their revolutionary tax.
» Incidents: Maoist rebels attacked security facilities in Dhankuta district, security forces reported.

» Democracy: U.N. envoy Lakhdar Brahimi called on King Gyanendra to restore democracy quickly. "A solution of the ongoing conflict is needed urgently. That solution rests on a return to constitutional order and multi-party democracy and to end any hostilities," Mr. Brahimi said. He also urged the Maoists to end violence and seek a peaceful resolution to a conflict.
» Mediation: According to news sources, U.N. envoy Lakhdar Brahimi said that it is no need for a UN mediation in Nepal. Days ago Maoist leader Prachanda said that his party is in favour of an UN mediation in Nepal.
» Maoist call: NC president Koirala and CPN-UML general secretary Nepal confirmed that they took Prachanda's call to form a talks team positively.
» Crossfire: A boy was killed in a crossfire between the security forces and the Maoistsin Palpa district.
» Foiled attack: Security sources had foiled an attempt by the Maoist rebels to attack Bhojpur, the headquarters of Bhojpur district.

» Release: Maoists released 20 security personnel abducted a month ago from different districts. The Maoists organised a programme in the presence of ICRC officials, local media personnel and human right activists.
» Attack: Maoist rebels have torched a passenger bus on Ilam-Jhapa road section along the Mechi Highway of Ilam district. Nobody was hurt in the incident
» Back again: Senior Maoist leader Baburam Bhattarai has been reinstated after several months of suspension, Maoist top leader Prachanda said in a statement. Baburam Bhattarai has been re-inducted into the politburo special committee.
» Clashes: At least two Maoists were killed in two separate security operations in Achham and Solukhumbu districts.
» Bombings: Maoist rebels have attacked Nepal's largest textile factory in Sunsari district. The textile factory has stopped operating.
