» Kaski, Arghakhanchi: Ongoing clashes between Maoists and joint security forces
» Peace talks: PM Deuba will form a four party coalititon. The party leaders vowed to hold peace talks with Maoist rebels to end the Maoist insurgency.
» Amnesty International: AI urges the Maoists to stop killings, tourtures and abductions of civilians.
» Maoist leader Prachanda: CPN-Maoist is ready to hold peaceful dialogue with the government in the mediation of United Nations. PM Deuba's goverment  does not have the power to find a peaceful and progressive political way out of the current crisis.

» PM Deuba: Royale Nepalese Army will return to barracks if Maoists stand for peace.
» Pokhara: Maoists have shot dead the Mayor of Pokhara .
» CPN-UML: A ceasefire should be unilaterally declared within 24 hours of the formation of an all-party government and the Maoists should be called for dialogues.
» United Nations: UN will not interfere in the negotiations between the government and the Maoists. However, UN is willing to mediate. Both sides involved in the conflict the government and the Maoists must recognise the existence of each other.

» Peace talks: Deputy PM B. M. Adhikari invited the Maoists to come to the negotiating table with their agendas.
» Parsa: Twelve policemen and a civilian have been killed in a  landmine attack by Maoist rebels near Birgunj.
» New government: Newly appointed PM have formed a four-party government aiming to get peace talks going with Maoist rebels. Nepali Congress Party stayed out of the coalition government.
» RNA: Widows of RNA personnel, died in clashes with Maoist rebels, have joined the Army to fight against the insurgency.
» Lamjung: Local government officials forced out of their villages by the Maoist's village level authorities are now being asked to return and resume their work.
» Salyan, Dailekh: Encounters between Maoist rebels and joint security forces. Dead soldiers and casualties on both sides.
» UML:  CPN-UML (United Marxist Leninist) will implement a common minimum programme including "Resolving problems caused by the Maoist insurgency
1. Peace talks with the Maoists will be given top priority by all political parties
2. Rehabilitate families displaced and affected by the conflict
3. Destroyed buildings and infrastructure repaired and restored"

» Dhangadhi: Maoists killed the Mayor of Dhangadhi municipality.
» Dang, Banke: Two children and a woman were killed in separate mine blasts led by Maoists.
» Baglung: Security forces shot dead several Maoist rebels during separate clashes.
» Development programmes: Development programmes suspended by various INGOs back in May in the districts of Western Nepal have resumed.
» Baitadi: A large group of Maoist rebels failed to attack an army base. The attack was pushed back by the security forces.
» Peace talks: Nepali Congress Party has started to negotiate with Maoists. Senior Maoist leaders were not involved in these talks. NCP president Koirala said also that he have met with the representative of United Nation's General Secretary.
» Smuggling: Maoist rebels are smuggling explosives and arms into Nepal  from Indian and Tibet via Bajura and Achham districts.

» Ceasefire: CPN-Maoist top leader Prachanda ruled out a ceasefire or talks in the immediate future unless the government was ready for a constituent assembly and UN mediation to solve the armed conflict. 
» CPN-UML: The leftist party has expressed dissatisfaction with the government for not creating an appropriate environment to resolve the eight-year-long insurgency.
» US ambassador to Nepal: The US envoy made a call to all parties involved in the actual crisis to pressurize the Maoists to come to the negotiating table.
» Maoist rebels have released the students and the teachers who were abducted south of Kathmandu.

» Western Nepal is a Maoist stronghold: Maoists openly boast that they regularly bring in weapons and explosives and transport them through the Terai jungles into the hills.
» Human rights: RNA will enforce the provision of compulsory human rights training in all of its divisions.
» Maoist-affiliated organisations: Kirat Workers' Party (KWP) and the Madhesi National Front (MNF) have distanced themselves once more from the CPN-Maoists.
